Peer-to-Peer (P2P) QR transfers will allow you to conveniently request funds without sharing your account number or IBAN. You can generate and share your personalized QR with anyone to receive/transfer funds
A QR (Quick Response) code is a type of barcode which stores information. It can be scanned using a smartphone camera.
A QR payment is a type of payment made by scanning a QR code from a mobile app such as Konnect by HBL
Peer-2-Peer QR transfer is a convenient and secure way for one peer (individual) to request funds from another peer (individual) via an encoded QR.
P2P QR is convenient as the receiver does not have to share lengthy account numbers/IBAN. They only have to send their personal QR which is encoded with all relevant information such as Account and Bank details.
The feature is secure as it enables the customer the ease of sharing their QR in 3 steps and all lengthy bank details will not have to be shared manually.
To send money to an individual using QR Payment, ask them to share their QR with you. Click on “Send Money” in the QR payments section. Scan the QR code from your phone’s camera or upload it from your image gallery. The amount may be auto-fetched or you may have to enter it yourself. Select the purpose of payment and click pay.
There are two ways to receive money via QR Payments:
1. To request for a specified amount:
Click on the receive payments button on QR screen. Enter the amount you would like to request and click on “Generate QR”. A dynamic QR code will be generated. Share it via WhatsApp, Email or SMS with others. When they scan your code and make payment, the requested amount of money will be deposited into your Konnect Account.
2. To receive payments without specifying the amount:
In the ‘My Account QR’ tab, you will find a static QR code linked to your Konnect Account. Sharing this QR code is like sharing your account number. When someone scans it, they will be asked to enter an amount and make payment. The payment will be received in your Konnect account.
The customer has an option of selecting the date of expiry for their dynamic QR in which they have specified amount they are requesting to be received.
A static QR is a personal QR with no expiry and can be reused to request funds.
All a customer needs is a smartphone and the respective Bank account Mobile App that supports the feature of either scanning a QR or uploading it from their photo gallery for them to send a QR and receive money.
P2P QR transfer is a way of requesting and transferring funds and does not enable the customer to withdraw funds.
